About Our Logo

The Survivors Working Group held a logo contest where artists from across the territory  were invited to submit their vision for Nee Kee Wa Nan. Artists were asked to create a design that represents the themes of healing the inner child, reclamation of identity and culture, bringing the children home, love, collective healing, courage and celebrating the children of today. A total of 11 artists participated in the design competition, submitting 14 designs. Rayanne Knapaysweet’s design was chosen as the winning logo. Tara Sloss’s came in second place and Gerry McComb’s came in third.

Rayanne's logo contains the thematic elements:

  • Family holding hands; mother child and father
