Recap: Carmen Edwards’ Week of Healing Support (November 18–24, 2024)
Last week, Healing Team member Carmen Edwards spent seven impactful days in the community, offering healing support and creating spaces for connection and wellness.
Highlights of the Week:
Morning Connections
- Each day began with "Coffee and Chat with Carmen", providing an open and welcoming space for community members to connect.
Afternoon Support:
- Carmen offered home visits and office appointments from 1:00–4:00 PM daily, ensuring personalized support tailored to individual needs.
Evening Activities:
- Monday: A mini workshop on “Values” encouraged reflection and personal growth.
- Tuesday: Game Night brought fun and laughter to the NeeKeeWanan Building.
- Wednesday: A Social Fun Night allowed community members to relax and engage in meaningful interactions.
- Thursday: Cree Sing or Learn Christmas Songs created a heartwarming space for cultural connection.
- Friday: Movie Night provided entertainment and relaxation to wrap up the week.
- Saturday & Sunday: Community members gathered for crafting circles, teepee therapy, and Labrador Tea and Fun, fostering creativity and connection.
